How do I find a work at home company that I worked for?

In 1999 I worked for a company that allowed me to work from home. I would call people who recently had their car serviced at the dealer ship or oil change place and ask them a few questions about their visit. All I needed was a home phone. I never did the work so I never got paid so it is not on my w-2.
Honestly, I would not search for "work from home" at all because most companies advertising that are not legit.
However, if you search for jobs by your area of interest, you may be able to find some that offer the option to
work from home.
