How does an Electric Kettle effect people at home, work, at school and at recreation.?

Doing a project on innovations. I basically need links, opinions and true facts. I would also appreciate it if you mention how electric kettles effect the environment. All answers greatly appreciated. Thank you. 
we couldnt find any sites on it.
its use is revolutionary. boils water for cooking, eating, drinking, making other things/food possible. it uses little electric and is env friendly. it last a long time and doesnt spoil easily. its a must-have item in many houses. it doesnt cause cancer as a microwave may.
