I am looking for (obviously) a good, or the best social networking site for musicians and music lovers. Something where music can be discussed and enjoyed as a whole. Pretty much like FaceBook and MySpace but for music. Anybody know of such a thing?

P.S.
I mostly listen to Pop/pop-rock/hardcore/post-hardcore music.
Thank you.

Why do young people feel able to use social networking sites to disclose abuse/ assault or seek advice rather than speaking to someone face to face?

I am a student researching disclosures of sexual assault on social networking sites. To help my research I would really like to understand what are the impacts (positive & negative) of disclosing sexual assault or abuse on social network sites in particular for young people.

I think it’s because the person feels really embarrassed and scared to tell someone just in case they pay a certain consequence for revealing it. However, I know not telling someone about the problem would result in issues as it can be hard to resolve the problem alone. It can also lead to depresssion and anxiety if the person keeps the issue to himself, and who knows what that depression can lead to as it does several thing. As for telling someone, it is more helpful. I know when you talk to someone, it makes you feel good and much better, and through that, you will receive lots of support and ways to solve the issue that will ease your situation, whether it s just talking to a friend, parents, or going to counseling. It will no doubt relieve the fear and anxiety.

Social networking has come a long way. Today’s big social networking sites had the "first mover" advantage. They have had millions of dollars pumped into them by various parties early on in their lives. Can new social networking sites succeed in the face of all these? Can their be any need they have not fulfilled, needs or features which new sites can add? Or will we soon see effects such as Microsoft had on the system software market, or Google had on the search market?

I would guess that they can. The trick I think is to start with some wordplay and to use a word that you can re use in many ways. Some tried and failed while sites like Twitter succeeded. I think they sold us on the ‘cute’ idea and they also networked with other social sites immediately.

Most internet business people like myself join any and all social sites because as you know on the net, people you know is like money in the bank. After I joined stress free salary I realized how quickly one can become rich on the net with just a vew people. That’s why I joined social sites today.

You can also use them to network to any site you have and in this way you can have your site up amongst the most in a short amount of time.
